National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

Talking about personal mental health or expressing concern over someone else’s is difficult for many reasons, including overcoming the stigma attached with it. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is an important resource for folks who are looking for a place to start, and for those who are either attempt or loss survivors. For our senior capstone, Ryan Dunn and I researched and reimagined the function and experience of the NSPL’s website. We brought forward the copy, making it less clinical and more human; used bright colour accents to focus and highlight content; added printed cards to create a physical presence and new pages within the site to strengthen its impact. As depression and suicide can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, or race, our vision of the NSPL is inclusive and approachable for anyone needing a helping hand.
